Sara Reiss is an MFA candidate at Brooklyn College where she has won the Charles G. Shaw award for painting, the
Morris Dorsky art award, and two research grants. Sara received her undergraduate degree in art from NYU in
2001, where she had a concentration in painting and digital media. She spent the next several years traveling and
living abroad, and then returned to New York in 2006. While away she continued to paint, and her work was
featured in several group shows. In 2003 she had a solo show in New York City. She likes hedgehogs, anything
made from refined sugar, and given enough pieces of bubblegum, she can blow three bubbles in one.
